Air Marshal Tejinder Singh: The Indian Air Force has appointed Air Marshal Tejinder Singh as the new Deputy Chief of Air Staff. He will take charge from Sunday (September 1, 2024). The officer holding this post is in charge of the modernization and procurement of the Air Force. Air Marshal Tejinder Singh was the senior air staff officer of the all-important Eastern Command since May 2023. He is an experienced fighter pilot with over 4500 hours of flying experience on several aircraft.

Air Marshal Tejinder Singh has held several important command and staff appointments in his long career as a Group-A flying instructor. He is assuming the appointment at a time when the Indian Air Force has to pursue several important aircraft projects including the LCA Mark-1A, LCA Mark 2-2 and the upgrade of its Sukhoi-30 MKI fleet. Air Marshal Tejinder Singh will be responsible for pushing forward important projects like the induction of the C-295 transport aircraft to the Air Force as well as several weapons and missiles being developed and manufactured.

Tejinder Singh was awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal by the then President Ram Nath Kovind on 31 May 2022. He was appointed as the Commanding Officer of the Jaguar Squadron on 26 May 2004 and did challenging work like boosting the morale of the squadron and rebuilding the team.
The squadron flew the maximum number of sorties among the fighter squadrons of Western Air Command and this was achieved without any mishap while operating the vintage Navigation Weapon Aiming Sub System Jaguar. H Hunter stood first during Operational Flying Training and was awarded the Best in Armament trophy. He was awarded the Best in Flying trophy while undergoing the Qualified Flying Instructor Course and was awarded the Scudder Medal for standing first in M.Sc. Studies while undergoing the Air Staff Course at the Defence Services Staff College.
